The pugilistic world is plagued by turbulence, and disputes have become an ordinary occurrence. Four unique individuals – Guo Da Lu, Wang Dong, Lin Tai Ping, and Yan Qi have gathered in Gui Shan Zhuang through a stroke of fate. As they are novices in jianghu, a series of funny and humanistic encounters surround them in a coming-of-age story about young martial arts heroes.
Growing Pains of Swordsmen is an upcoming Chinese drama that is set to premiere on March 7, 2024. The series features a talented cast including Bai Ke, Eric Leyang, Lan Yingying, and Sean Sun in the lead roles. Growing Pains of Swordsmen is an adaptation of the novel “Happy Heroes” by renowned wuxia author, Gu Long.
The story revolves around four novice swordsmen, Guo Da Lu (Bai Ke), Lin Tai Ping (Eric Leyang), Yan Qi (Lan Yingying), and Wang Dong (Sean Sun), who cross paths at Gui Shan Zhuang in Jiangshu while training to become martial arts heroes. As they train together, they form a bond and embark on a journey filled with comedic encounters and adventures.
The pugilistic world is fraught with turbulence and disputes are common. However, these four swordsmen work together for the greater good of the residents of the kingdom. Despite facing numerous challenges, they strive to prove their worth as martial arts heroes.
The drama also features a talented ensemble of supporting actors including Jia Bing, Liu Yajin, An Dong, Wang Lina, Ying Yu Chen, Wang Wen, Chen Huafeng, and Chen Yang. Shang Jing serves as the director and screenwriter for the anticipated drama.
Growing Pains of Swordsmen was originally scheduled to release 51 episodes, but due to new rules by the Chinese Government, Chinese Entertainment Houses can only release a maximum of 40 episodes in a single season of a C-drama. Viewers are eager to see how this will play out.
