A reporter discovers the existence of a “comment unit” while reporting on online public opinion manipulation and encounters a shocking reality while covering them.
The movie “Troll Factory,” directed by Ahn Gooc-jin, is set to be released in theaters on March 27, 2024, in Korea. The film is a crime drama that revolves around an investigative journalist who, while probing a story about the manipulation of public sentiment, uncovers the existence of a so-called “troll factory.” The journalist is then confronted with an unbelievable truth.
The cast of “Troll Factory” is headed by Son Sukku, who has starred in Netflix series “A Killer Paradox,” Disney+ series “Big Bet,” hit Korean movie “The Roundup” and “My Liberation Notes.” Kim Sung-cheol, Kim Dong-hwi, and Hong Kyung are also part of the cast.
Ahn Gooc-jin, the director of “Troll Factory,” is known for his debut feature, the 2015 crime film “Alice in Earnestland,” which won the Grand Prize at the leading Korean film festival in Jeonju, the best new talent award at the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival, and the Directors’ Cut award at the Director’s Cut Film Festival. It was also invited to the Stockholm film festival.
The production of “Troll Factory” is by Cinematic Moment, with production finance by Acemaker and KC Ventures. Acemaker is handling all rights sales.
“Troll Factory” is not the only film that Acemaker Movieworks is showcasing at the Berlin Film Festival’s European Film Market. The five-year-old company’s slate also includes historical adventure film “Noryang: Deadly Sea” and action title “The Tyrant.”
Troll Factory: A Highly Anticipated Crime Drama Set for Release in 2024:
Acemaker Movieworks, the Korean studio behind successful films such as “Noryang: Deadly Sea” and “A Man of Reason,” is set to release its latest crime drama, “Troll Factory.” The movie is set to hit theaters on March 27, 2024, and is already generating buzz in the film industry.
“Troll Factory” is directed by Ahn Gooc-jin, whose debut feature “Alice in Earnestland” won several awards, including the Grand Prize at the Jeonju Film Festival and the best new talent award at the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival. The cast includes Son Sukku, known for his work in Netflix series “A Killer Paradox” and Disney+ series “Big Bet,” as well as Kim Sung-cheol, who will appear in the upcoming Netflix series “Hellbound Season 2.”

Production for “Troll Factory” is handled by Cinematic Moment, with financing from Acemaker and KC Ventures. Acemaker is also handling all rights sales for the film.
In addition to “Troll Factory,” Acemaker’s Berlin slate includes the historical adventure film “Noryang: Deadly Sea” and the action title “The Tyrant,” directed by Park Hoon-jung and starring Cha Seoung-wan, Kim Seon-ho, and Kim Kang-woo.
With its intriguing plot and talented cast, “Troll Factory” is sure to be a popular addition to the crime drama genre.
